Integrated Healthcare: Health Concerns and Psychiatric Diagnosis

  • Training & Treatment Innovations, Inc. 1450 S. Lapeer Rd. Oxford, MI 48371 United States (map)

Course Description:

As Integrated Healthcare slowly becomes the model of service delivery across Michigan, it is important that social workers be prepared to work in integrated settings.  This class will examine some of the common physical health problems faced by consumers of behavioral health services. Very often, individuals with psychiatric, alcohol abuse, or other substance use diagnoses face physical health problems that can be associated with their primary diagnosis, or are completely unrelated.  Medications can have long-term effects on consumers.  Participants will examine some of the most common physical illnesses, risk factors, and opportunities for consumer education and coordination of care.  There is a $19 charge for this workshop.
