Course Description:
Even though Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD) is the fourth leading cause of death worldwide, it is strikingly under-diagnosed, undertreated and misunderstood. This course describes the prevalence and pathophysiology of COPD, the proper methods of assessment and management, the most effective pharmacologic and non-pharmacologic treatments and interventions, and the case manager’s role in helping patients manage their COPD.
