Course Description:

Even though the use of medication as a treatment for depression has been on the rise for many years, patients can still find great (and often longer-term) success with non-pharmacological treatments, if they can find the one appropriate for their needs. This module details the variety of settings for such care, and outlines the different forms of psychotherapy, also known as “talk therapy.” The module then explores two other branches of non-pharmacological therapies: complementary and integrative health therapies (such as herbal medicine and acupuncture) and therapeutic neuromodulation techniques, such as electroconvulsive therapy (ECT).
