Gambling Disorder Among the Military and Veteran Population: Unique Challenges

  • Live Webinar United States (map)

Course Description:

Research suggests that the rate of gambling disorder is higher among military personnel than that of the general population. Gambling Disorder often co-occurs with other disorders that have elevated rates among those who have served in the military, such as substance use disorder, intimate partner violence (IPV), post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), depression, and suicide. While there is an abundance of opportunities for veterans and enlisted personnel to gamble, many members of the military do not have access to treatment for gambling problems and may face disciplinary action for seeking help. This training will discuss issues of gambling disorder among active duty military and veterans and the unique challenges of providing treatment for this population..
