Course Description:
Practice Gap Need and Course Description: Many analysts/therapists are not aware of Freud’s early contributions to homosexuality, which can have, and be perceived to have, embedded moralizing and judgmental qualities. Through use of power point and discussion Dr. Drescher will detail Freud’s early contributions to the study of human sexuality and then the problems in psychoanalysis that have served as obstacles in promoting its findings to other disciplines, as well as, patients.
After attending this presentation, participants will be able to:
1. Define Freud’s early contributions to the study of human sexuality.
2. Identify current problems in the field of psychoanalysis that serve as obstacles to promoting its findings to other disciplines
