Course Description:
Abolitionists believe that we can envision and build a society that addresses social problems without the need for punishment and incarceration. How can social workers be a part of creating this new society, and what is the work that needs to be done to achieve this? This webinar will explore what abolition looks like in practice, social work’s role with carceral systems, and what social workers can do to create a society in which the need for these systems is obsolete.
