Course Description:

By the end of this educational program, participants will be able to discriminate between the terms dementia, delirium,and depression and causes and prevalence of each, recognize signs and symptoms that overlap across all three conditions (similarities) and distinguishing factors (differences) that set each apart, identify common scenarios when the conditions may occur in combination, explain why people need and deserve a thorough evaluation of any change in mental status, including people already diagnosed with dementia and select the appropriate actions to connect individuals and families to the appropriate evaluations and resources if they suspect any of the three conditions.
