Course Description:

This two-day course is designed to prepare nurses, social workers, and other professionals to provide quality care for infants, children, and adolescents with advanced illness and at the end of life. Pediatric and neonatal caregivers in any setting who want to increase their knowledge in end-of-life issues are encouraged to participate in this educational opportunity. The comprehensive curriculum includes the modules Introduction to Pediatric Palliative Care; Perinatal & Neonatal Palliative Care; Communication; Ethical/Legal Issues in Pediatric Palliative Care; Cultural & Spiritual Considerations in Palliative Care; Pain Management; Symptom Management; Care at the Time of Death, and Loss, Grief, and Bereavement.
