Course Description:

We tend to think women as complicated and men as one-dimensional simpletons. As gender roles and expectations shift and technology has infiltrated every aspect of our lives, more men are seeking therapy and other forms of support. We urgently need to challenge our own assumptions about the landscape of the male psyche and what things men share in common with each other, with women, and how each man is--in the end--a unique individual. We'll also explore The Five Love Languages: How to Express Heartfelt Commitment to Your Mate, a 1995 book by Gary Chapman which outlines five primary ways we express and receive love: receiving gifts, quality time, words of affirmation, acts of service, and physical touch. Learn this model and how to apply it in your own life as well as with clients in therapy.
