Symposium on Aging and Addiction: Reviving the Conversation

  • Eastern Michigan University Boone Hall G12A Ypsilanti, MI 48197 United States (map)

Course Description:

This course will focus on the crisis in our community as we grapple with the issues facing older adults with substance use and other mental health disorders.  This symposium will bring together stakeholders and community partners to discuss the provision of services and identify areas that are potentially under resourced and/or misunderstood and stigmatized .  Community and health care leaders will provide information and a current perspective on what is being done to address the issue, what needs to be done to raise awareness and ways to provide support and services to individuals, families and communities as we deal with an aging population with growing substance use and other mental health disorders.
