Disenfranchised Grief: A client and practitioner experience

  • Eastern Michigan University Boone Hall G12A Ypsilanti, MI 48197 United States (map)

Course Description:

“One often calms one’s grief by recounting it.”  - Pierre Corneille

As people and as practitioners we all face grief and loss with differing levels of support, understanding, and perspective.  Our interactive workshop will offer participants the opportunity to identify forms of disenfranchised grief, understand what makes it unique, consider concerns for grieving clients, and implications for our work whether with individuals, groups, or communities.  This workshop is a creative and safe space for exploration.
