Course Description:

This workshop will explore the concepts of race and culture, their historical significance in the U.S., and how they impact a childs identity formation and self-esteem. Children placed in cross-cultural relationships through the child welfare system need the support of child welfare workers and parents in navigating prejudice, discrimination, and differing cultural practices. This workshop will focus on identifying the impact of cross-cultural placements and how to assist children and their families in coping with these issues.
