Course Description:
This workshop will reveal how physical pain symptoms are bodily messengers that can help individuals understand and manage pain symptoms. These pain symptoms can be caused by persistent unhealthy beliefs and difficult emotions as well as physical injury. The unpleasant nature of pain symptoms generally lead to difficult emotions, which can then generate more pain. When this cycle of pain symptoms goes unnoticed or unaddressed, the cumulative effect can lead to more serious physical and mental health problems. In this workshop, you will learn to differentiate difficult emotions from physical pain sensations, as you practice a body-based strategy to manage pain symptoms for optimal health. The workshop will offer brief lecture, discussion, and experiential exercises. The presenter aims to have participants leave with practical strategies and a renewed charge for reading and managing pain symptoms while moving forward with their work and life goals when working with clients.
