Course Description:

Teaching children, adolescents and adults with ADHD, autism spectrum disorder, learning challenges or those with higher language and academic abilities, how to think critical, improve ones’ social learning, and adapt social responses will be explored. Using the Social Competency Model, four key elements will be highlighted for improving each persons’ ability to: attend, interpret, problem solve and respond. As social awareness grows, self-regulation will improve. Social Thinking Vocabulary and multiple strategies will be taught to encourage younger children to become Social Detectives and adolescents to become Social Spies.
