Course Description:

It is estimated that hoarding affects 1.4 million homes in the United States and as few as 10% come to the attention of public officials. The Washtenaw County Hoarding Task Force formed a multi-agency partnership of public and private agencies to raise public awareness of the problem and preserve safe and appropriate housing for individuals. Through this workshop we will present an overview of hoarding behaviors, best practices, intervention and legal strategies. Through case examples participants will be able to discuss various case problems.
