12th Annual Diversity Lecture: The Psychology of a City: Race, Violence, and Community

  • Wayne State University Community Arts Auditorium 450 Reuther Mall Detroit, MI 48202 United States (map)

Course Description:

The Wayne State University School of Social Work Office of Continuing Education is proud to host Teresa Méndez, clinical social worker in Baltimore, MD, and Director of the Baltimore Psychotherapy Institute as the keynote speaker for the 12th annual Diversity Lecture. Inspired by Mendez’s efforts to make sense of the racial violence in her community, this presentation asks: How can a city, group, or individual carry the unbearable feelings for a country, and how do we begin to work with this in treatment?
