Course Description:

This course is designed to educate professional service providers who provide care to people with a diagnosis of Alzheimer’s disease (AD) or other dementia and/or their family members and care partners. The material will increase their awareness and understanding of memory loss, dementia and Alzheimer’s disease. Participants will learn about social needs of persons with dementia and how these needs can be met, person-centered caregiving techniques to better understand clients, the importance of intellectual and social engagement, best practice methods for interacting with PWDs based on the progress of their dementing illness, and creative methods to foster engagement and meaningful connections
