Course Description:

The Ethics Training assists participants in achieving a greater sense of confidence and competence in evaluating and managing ethical and legal challenges in clinical work. The training teaches strategies for identifying and resolving ethical dilemmas. It focuses on risk management, HIPPA, confidentiality, the importance of thoughtful clinical documentation, dual relationships, standards of care and the need for consultation in practice.

Pain Management T raining is focused on effectively assessing and treating mental health consumers experiencing chronic pain. The training describes the biopsychosocial model of chronic pain as well as specific CBT interventions shown to be helpful in ameliorating clients’ pain. It emphasizes the importance of a multidisciplinary team and delineates the contributions and responsibilities (by discipline) of each team member. The training also focuses on the role of medication as a treatment tool as well as common client perceptions about the use of various typically prescribed pain medications.
