Recognizing, Preventing and Reporting Elder/Adult Abuse: When Should You Report Adult Abuse and What Should Happen?

Course Description:

Adult abuse is vastly under-reported and misunderstood. This course will examine the current systems and educational efforts in place. Specifics will be discussed about the role of state agencies, particularly Adult Protective Services. Case examples highlighting actual responses to adult abuse by, both state agencies and other non-profit entities, will be discussed. Laws,
regulations and policies will be discussed including those related to mandatory reporting. Resources, including information about current efforts underway to combat this horrific crime will be made available.
