Course Description:

This module explores the first vital step of asthma management: getting a thorough diagnosis and regular assessments. This module first covers the key factors in an accurate asthma diagnosis—from clinical history to respiration function tests. Next, it looks at how one classifies the severity of asthma, as well as the distinctions and complexities in evaluating an asthma diagnosis in both children and older adults. Finally, the module details the different external factors (from tobacco smoke to allergens and workplace issues) that can exacerbate asthma, and how healthcare professionals can establish a productive management plan for their asthma patients.
