The Michigan Social Work Continuing Education Collaborative was formed to ensure that all continuing education programs offered to Michigan's licensed social workers meet the ongoing; educational, and practice needs, and that all training fulfill the guidelines established in the Social Work Licensing laws.

The Collaborative model serves the social work profession by:

  • Providing a way for course sponsors to implement the requirements for continuing education.

  • Contributing to the unity of the profession by bringing together major stakeholders in the state.

  • Allowing for discussion between social work associations, organizations, and Michigan schools’ of social work to assure provision of current and emerging practice trainings throughout the State of Michigan.

The Collaborative serves as the collective body that evaluates continuing education applications to ensure that the content meets the education requirements as defined in the social work licensure law.

Our group is comprised of members representing academic institutions and social work professional associations.
