Course Description:

This interactive and educational workshop explores the growing threat of cyber-facilitated human trafficking and equips social workers with the knowledge and tools to prevent, identify, and intervene in cases involving digital exploitation. The workshop will examine how traffickers use technology including social media, gaming platforms, messaging apps, and the dark web to groom, recruit, and exploit victims. Participants will also learn about key technology prevention tools, digital safety strategies, and multi-sector collaboration techniques to combat online trafficking. Real-life case examples and emerging research will guide discussions on ethical boundaries, trauma-informed response, and best practices in digital safety education.
