Course Description:

Health care professionals are key members of interdisciplinary teams that care for individuals with dementia and their families. The goal of this annual conference is to present aging research that help interdisciplinary care providers to recognize and appreciate the role that their strategies and techniques play in dementia care as well as how education and modeling is the driving force to make change in current practice. Alzheimer’s disease transformed from a rare disease into a very common one and then into a crisis, we will explore: (1) the impact hospitalization has on dementia outcomes, (2) current research findings in ALS and frontal temporal dementia overlap, (3) how to best keep those living with dementia safely in their homes (4) how to educate and inform on the importance of medication compliance with older adults for best health outcomes.
