Grief, Loss and Healing Within the Family

  • Live Webinar United States (map)

Course Description:

Loss within a family system can take many forms: the loss of relationships, opportunities, financial stability, health, identity, and/or structure. Grief is the common process we experience as a result of our loss, whether the loss is from the death of a loved one or the loss of one’s family structure. The grieving process is different for each individual – there is no “normal” time frame for healing. Emotional healing has been found to be effective in helping individuals overcome grief and loss. Emotional healing is impacted by an individual’s emotional stability, culture, socioeconomic status, spiritual beliefs and overall well-being. This workshop will explore the five stages of grief: denial, anger, bargaining, depression, and acceptance. In addition, this workshop will focus on therapeutic tools, practical case studies, and the presentation of skills and techniques to equip providers with the tools necessary to aid their families with processing, understanding, effectively coping with, healing through, and accepting their unique and varied grief experiences.
