Course Description:

This four-hour presentation will provide an overview of the major tenets of the evidence-based IFS model that is taking the mental health community here and abroad by storm. It will also include experiential exercises and a demonstration of the model with a volunteer who can work on a personal issue/part or channel a difficult client. (Nothing personal needs to be revealed to the presenter or in these demos.)

Goal: Participants will be able to state a basic understanding of the stages of the IFS model and how it compares to other trauma-based psychotherapy models.

1. Participants will state an understanding of the major players in most people's systems: Firefighters, Managers and Exiles.

2. Participants will state an understanding of the stages of the model and how they typically progress and can be integrated with other models like EMDR.

3. Participants will be able to state an understanding of the training stages and process of how to get trained and certified by the IFS Institute
