Course Description:
This conference is designed for all Children's Adovcacy Center (CAC) professionals and Multidisciplinary Team (MDT) professionals including physicians, nurses, law enforcement professionsals, childnre's protective services workers, prosecutors, mental health providers, and others. Workshops and keynote presentations will focus on how all CAC and MDT members can contribute to the multi-disciplinary team model when responding to, investigating, treating, and preventing child abuse Workshop topics invclude (but are not limited to): forensic interviewing of children, impacts of trauma in children, vicarious trauma in professionals, mental health treatment for abuse victims, victim advocacy techniques, investigative techniques, prosecution of child abuse cases, responding to abuse in special populations and dynamics of abuse.
