Course Description:

.Participants will be able to use current language conventions in the discussion of suicide and self-directed violence phenomena.

Participants will be able to describe a range of demographic and situational factors that indicate increased risk for suicide ideation and suicide attempts. Participants will be able to detail the increased risk of suicide behavior in persons with brain injury, and detail at least three reasons why this is a special risk population. Participants will be able to name at least two suicide screening tools and one institutional suicide prevention initiative.

Participants will be able to identify at least two treatment interventions for suicide behavior. Participants will be able to identify the National Suicide Hotline number.
