Course Description:
Get the information you need to understand the basics of dementia. Distinguish the common forms of dementia including Alzheimer's disease. Develop strategies to improve communication and understand the root cause of challenging behavior. The class will conclude with a question and answer opportunity with a person living with dementia and/or his/her care partner. This class is required to complete the certificate. This educational activity is provided by Schoolcraft College, an approved continuing education provider under the Michigan Board of Nursing Administrative Rule R338.10602(g) and is approved for 4 continuing education contact hours for nurses. It is approved for 4 continuing education contact hours for social workers by the Michigan Social Work Continuing Education Collaborative and 0.4 CEUs for all others.
