Course Description:
With so much pain and suffering around us, we want to be sure we are preparing a pathway for healing. Many times, we feel uncertain on what to say or do when being present to those experiencing acute grief. We want to be certain that our responses are helpful and not hurtful. This seminar will address how healthcare workers can gain clarity by looking at the personal and professional experiences of Dr. Marcy Larson and closer look into what bereaved persons need provided by Grief Guide Gwen Kapcia, CT, in addition, providing techniques for the worker to ensure we are not re-victimizing the hurting and that we remain healthy in the process.
Physicians in office teams will gain creative and new understanding of the grieving process that patient endure. Early interventions are essential to ensure that physicians, advocates, and family continue to provide optimal care to patients grieving from loss, depression and sadness and support to patients and their families/advocates experiencing grief.
