Course Description:
National, state, and local speakers provide valuable information about drugs, trauma, treatment, and reducing
stigma. Many speakers will share their own powerful stories of change, hope. and recovery.
1. Participants will be able to identify strategies that are effective in preventing, treating, and maintaining recovery from SUD.
2. Participants from various disciplines will identify ways that various disciplines, the public, and people with lived experience can work together to address SUD.
3. Participants will be able to identify ways to modify current practices in order to increase coordination of community resources, decrease stigma related to SUD, and apply evidence-based practices.
4. Eliminate stigmatizing language related to mental health and substance use disorders in communications with patients
5. Improve cross sector collaboration and referral systems
6. Increase utilization of prevention, treatment, and recovery resources in the region
