Course Description:
This 10th annual symposium will provide attendees with information on emerging health care policies, evidenced-based practices and how the Affordable Care Act and results of the 2020 elections are impacting the health of people who rely on Michigan’s health care safety net. Topics will include: the impact of telehealth; the significance of the election results on health care policy in the State and the Nation; the most recent updates on the coronavirus pandemic in Michigan and the state health department's response, including the flu shot campaign; Michigan's Coronavirus Task Force on Racial Disparities purpose and accomplishments; and the Task Force's recommendations for primary care providers, including immediate COVID response and addressing the underlying causes of disparities.
