Course Description:

Designed for non-profit practitioners, this presentation examines the logic that underlies all systematic and sound program evaluation. Dr. Youker will introduce the logic of evaluation and demonstrate its application by providing a examples of common program evaluation models that use this logic as well as a few models that don’t. Dr. Youker will lead participants in an exercise where they’ll reflect on their own organization and programs to assess whether their organization’s evaluation practices adhere to the logic of evaluation and identify potential areas of weakness. Lastly, participants will recognize areas that might strengthen the logical soundness of their organization and/or program’s evaluation practices.
