Course Description:

Recovery Coaching or “Peer Mentoring” is fast becoming a well populated field. Many treatment organizations, hospital emergency rooms, sober living systems and independent treatment professionals have begun to incorporate recovery coaching into their programs but initially are unclear about what exactly a recovery coach is or does. This presentation will provide information about what a recovery coach is and is not, what skills a recovery coach brings to the working relationship with a newly recovering client, how working with a recovery coach can help prevent recidivism and how treatment professionals can work in conjunction with a recovery coach to increase successful outcomes for the client.
