Understanding the 12-Steps: Helping Your Clients in Their Recovery and Helping Loved Ones of Those Who Have Chemical Dependency and Other Addictions

Course Description:

This workshop will explore AA and other 12-Step Groups, the 12-Steps and 12 Traditions, and helping your Client decide if 12-Step Groups are for them.  The course will also address how practitioners can know enough to determine if Clients are attending meetings when they say they are.  Additional topics include benefits of a comprehensive treatment plan that includes 12-Step Groups, and the concept of "Addiction is a Family Disease".  Participants will learn more about how to help Clients identify if a loved one has a chemical dependency and/or other addictions, Co-dependent behaviors they may be engaging in, or how to learn to set and maintain healthy boundaries.
