Managing Pain and Perplexing Behaviors

  • Washtenaw Community College 4800 East Huron River Drive Ann Arbor, MI, 48105 United States (map)

Course Description:

Care of older adults can be challenging, particularly when cognitive impairment affects how information is both received and relayed.  This self-reflective course allows professional caregivers to consider how their personal strengths may be maximized to improve communication, think differently about assessment, and build effective care teams. Course will cover assessment and plans of care related to pain, depression, aggression, sexual behaviors, and hygiene within the contexts of culture, environment, disease, and preference.
