Course Description:

While many people diet, restrict or over eat, and have environmental and psychological risk factors, relatively few develop eating disorders.  Eating disorders continue to perplex and new ways to view them are essential to continued understanding and enhancing treatment. This presentation will discuss the direction that new research is exploring in the field of eating disorders, including: brain mechanisms, the gut microbiome and sensory processing patterns.  Then we will look at how to pair this research with DBT interventions to improve treatment outcomes
