Course Description:
Attendees will be introduced to the 6 Human Emotional Needs that drive individual behavior. Exploration of how these needs are met with identification of the positive and negative effects of these choices. Attendees will also be introduced to the effect of Resistance on Change with identification of Archetypical Wounds that hinder change and often times re-traumatize individual.
The training will directly address issues that impact an individual's interaction with the social environment and why conflicts occur within the individual as well as the relationships they have. Theories and concepts of Change and how Resistance occurs, directly relates to a Social Worker's knowledge and skill set and will enable the practitioner to identify their own resistance to their client's blocks to change. In identifying Archetypical Wounds the practitioner will be able to assist their clients in understanding "why" they continue to engage in self-destructive traumatizing behaviors, and be able to guide them to resolution.
