Course Description:
Social and emotional learning is dependent on life experiences and relationships. Feeling valued and connected cultivates resilience in children. In addition provides opportunities to build age appropriate capacities to accept and the ability for healthy adaptation. The developing brain is sensitive to all kinds of experiences, toxic stress can effect brain interaction with body systems and development throughout the lifetime. This workshop will present key findings related to the 5 barriers that contribute to inequitable access to social emotional academic development. A combination of individual activities and group discussion will be used identify opportunities to promote greater equity among children.
