Course Description:

As Integrated Healthcare slowly becomes the model of service delivery across Michigan, it is important that social workers be prepared to work in integrated settings.  Diabetes Management will help social workers to understand the disease process and common treatments available to individuals with Diabetes.  Participants will develop an understanding of the types of diabetes, risk factors faced by consumers with behavioral health services, and common treatment approaches, including healthy lifestyles and diets.  Monitoring and coordination of care recommendations will be discussed.  There is a $15 charge for this workshop.
