Course Description:
Join us for an informative workshop presented by an FBI Victim Advocate and a Woman’s Health Nurse Practitioner. The workshop will cover the federal definition of Human Trafficking, potential charges and sentences for offenders, as well as, information about recruiting and the dynamics of trafficking, where human trafficking may take place, how to identify potential victims in various settings (including health care settings), what the warning signs may be for a human trafficking victim (especially when seen in a health care setting), and potential victim needs and resources. Lastly, participants will learn how to report suspected trafficking. Case examples from Southwest Michigan will be used.
