Course Description:
The aging of our population and the continued advancement of medicine will only intensify the need for end-of-life medical decision making and increase the need for appropriate social work involvement. Helping Social Workers explain and identify requirements needed for "end of life" planning and preparation is essential, especially when patients are near death, and at a highly emotional and chaotic state or not mobile. Social Workers provide guidance and information to those who are severely ill or facing imminent death. Our course provides the necessary information for Social Workers to assist their patients, answering questions and concerns surrounding cremation, ground burial, green burial, and other cemetery provisions, including support services such as Grief Counseling for surviving family members.
