Course Description:
This training will expound upon the DAY 1: Introduction to Functional Behavior Assessment Training and emphasize the principles of behavior analysis, along with evidence-based strategies for managing student behavior. This training will provide a brief overview for looking at behavior from a functional perspective and identifying variables that are hypothesized to control student behavior.
Strategies will be identified and discussed to better prepare teachers to implement interventions within the classroom and manage student behavior. The trainers will also highlight simple data collection systems to help teachers and staff make data-based decisions in regards to student interventions.
This training will provide you with some tools and additional resources to shape the environment to be more successful for students classified as tier one, two, and three. Free online modules will be provided for trainees to complete before the follow-up training, and will offer more information on the principles of behavior and effective, evidence-based strategies for managing behavior.
