Course Description:

This course will provide an overview of frequently encountered immigration law concepts to help you help your immigrant clients. The course will cover: 1. The Immigration System: Who is responsible for enforcing immigration laws and how do people immigrate? 2. Working with asylees and refugees; 3. Special considerations for working with victims of violence; 4. Immigrants and public benefits access; 5. Unaccompanied children and family separation; 6. Immigration enforcement, detention, and the removal process.
