Understanding, Identifying and Interacting with Trafficking Survivors

  • Postma Center at Pine Rest 300 68th Street Southeast Grand Rapids, MI, 49548 United States (map)

Course Description:

Human trafficking cuts across all avenues of race, gender and cultures.  Too often the victims of trafficking are treated as criminals rather than as victims who have been exploited.  The focus of this presentation will be on the victims of both rape and labor trafficking.  Victims of both arenas suffer acute PTSD due to the sexual, physical and psychological trauma endured through their victimization process.  This training will help clinicians identify the population involved and discuss short and long-term interventions and treatment strategies.
