Course Description:
Coming Together 2018 is collaboration between Community Healing Centers and the Specialty Program in Alcohol and Drug Abuse at Western Michigan University. We seek to promote a better understanding of addiction and recovery in our community by facilitating conversations and partnerships with a variety of community organizations. Through the conference we will enhance public and professional knowledge of addiction and reduce the stigma associated with treatment and recovery. The latest tools and treatment knowledge will be provided for professionals acting on the front line, treating substance use disorders and co-occurring conditions. We will raise awareness of the programs and outreach services available in the community for those children, families, and individuals struggling in the shadows of addiction.
Professionals from medicine, law, criminal justice, social work, and education will be joined by outstanding national experts and spokespersons in a full day of presentations and workshops.
