Course Description:

How healthcare providers and other team members respond to suffering is pivotal to alleviating suffering for patients as quickly as possible. This session will:

•        Define suffering and the difference between pain and suffering.

•        Help participants describe their own reactions and responses to suffering in health care settings.

•        Describe helpful and unhelpful responses to suffering.

•        Use these insights to be more attentive and present while caring for patients.
