The goal of this seminar is to provide healthcare providers with information on how the brain produces behavior, the nature of positive and negative emotions,
how the stress response happens, how resilient people cope with the challenges of life, and how overall happiness and positive well-being can be learned and
maintained to create a full and good life—for the provider, his or her family and friends, and the patients and clients that are served.
Clinically important topics include 1) Where Behavior Comes From: Perception, Thinking, Emotions, and Memory; 2) Life Threatening Events and Stress:
How We Get Afraid and Angry; 3) Positive and Negative Emotions and Moods: The Nature of Happiness; and 4) Emotional Intelligence and Social Intelligence.
