Course Description:
This course is to provide an update on recent developments in the management of patients with advanced liver disease including those with significant psychological and social factors including chronic Hepatitis C, alcohol-related cirrhosis, liver transplant, and chronic kidney disease. Through a series of overview lectures and case presentations, participants will become familiar with new regulations regarding allocation of organs for transplant, treatment needs and options for patients with HCV, trends and biomarkers in alcoholic liver disease, dialysis needs for patients with liver disease, prevention and management of opioid misuse in the liver disease and transplant population, as well as an update on Hepatitis A prevention strategies.
