Course Description:
Following this workshop, learners will be able to determine: (1) how to use Montessori educational techniques in planning activities for persons with dementia focusing on their remaining strengths and capacities; (2) what challenges are faced by persons with Mild Cognitive Impairment (MCI) and potential strategies to overcome these challenges; (3) how to assist caregivers and families of patients with dementia implement D.I.C.E. (Describe, Investigate, Create and Evaluate) approach in managing behavioral and psychological symptoms of dementia; and (4) what resources are available to support dementia friendly community initiatives
