Course Description:

This course provides an opportunity to explore issues surrounding one’s own death, including understanding the business of death, funeral and rituals, and end of life conversations. Examining these components of death with enable participants to increase their comfort level in conversations with clients and become better advocates by understanding how the grief trajectory may be influenced by events that do or do not happen at the time of death. The course will show best practices when using both face-to-face and phone interpreters, as well as practical tips for ensuring confidentiality, accuracy, and that ethical standards are met.
